Strathclyde Police are keen to trace any witnesses to an assault suffered by a woman in Wishaw on 29th January.
The lady, in her 50s, was assaulted by another female aged between 55 and 60, on Shand Street in the town around 10.15am on Sunday 29th January.The suspect is described as aged between 55 adn 60, around 5'5" tall and of heavy build. She had shoulder-length grey hair and was wearing red and pink gloves and a blue jacket. She had a white pitbull dog with her.
The victim was standing at the front gate of her home. As she was standing there she noticed a lady standing with a white pitbull-type dog at a grass area nearby her home. The victim saw the dog fouling the grass area and the suspect walking away from the dog without cleaning up the mess. The victim then approached the lady with the dog and challenged her for not picking up the mess. At this point the suspect grabbed the lady by the hair and punched her on the side of her head.
Police are keen to trace any witnesses to this assault, particularly someone who was heard to call "This is a Sunday! Leave her alone".
