Council Tax in North Lanarkshire is to be frozen for the third year in a row.
The administration's decision was announced ahead of February's crucial meeting to set the Council budget for the coming year.
It means the Band D charge will remain at £1098.
North Lanarkshire Council Leader, Councillor Jim McCabe said: "I am delighted we are able to once again freeze our Council Tax rates.
"While this is obviously good news for householders, we cannot ignore the fact the Council faces real financial challenges for the year ahead and beyond.
"Already we have identified efficiency savings of around £15million for the year 2010/ 11 with further savings amounting to £60million to be made during the following three years."
Cllr McCabe added: "It is vital that North Lanarkshire Council balance its books and, as we put the finishing touches to our annual budget, there will be some tough decisions.
"However, we remain committed to maintaining vital services."
The move to freeze Council Tax will be considered by the full Council on February 11.
Water and sewerage bills, which average £324 across Scotland, are not included in the Council Tax charge.
However, Scottish Water has announced its rates will remain unchanged for the year 2010/ 11.
