John Paul II Primary in Viewpark is now illuminated by an imaginative new chandelier which is made up of bottles, plastic cups, rulers, hanging pencils, energy saving light bulbs and portraits of the pupils who helped in the design of the project. The top layer of the chandelier consists of Irn Bru bottles donated by Barr's Company.
The school embarked on the adventurous project to support their bid for an Eco Flag Award which promotes positive attitudes about the environment. The long term aim with is to connect the chandelier to an alternative power source which will generate power for the light from within the school.
