I spoke to Heather about her experiences. I asked her when she first realised she had psychic powers and she answered “My very first experience was when I was around 3 or 4 when I felt someone tap my shoulder but no on was there. Throughout the following years I felt my bed shake, thought I could hear my name being shouted and would ask random questions on things which became relevant within days.” Heather laughs “I didn't think I was psychic....just strange.”
I asked Heather about her career to date. She said “I worked for 25 years in the travel industry which I enjoyed hugely. Ironically my most recent job was managing a Travel emergency team helping people who were stuck or stranded and needed help and guidance. Until a few years ago the readings that I gave were for friends and family only. It was not until I suffered a period of illness and spent a few months at home away from the chaos of work and everyday life that my mediumship ability escalated almost overnight. I think it was having my mind clear from everyday issues that allowed me to 'hear' spirit chattering away to me.”

Heather said “One that sticks out was a reading I gave for a neighbour of mine who had lived with her partner for 15 years. I advised her she would be engaged to him 'before' Christmas '’Absolutely not' she said. 'We have spoken about it and he has made it clear that marriage is not for him. It doesn't bother me now as we are happy enough'. On the 15th December that year he gave her a Christmas card for 'My Fiancée'. When she said ''You got the wrong card'' he said ''Oh you better have this then....'' and presented her with a beautiful engagement ring. That was 10 years ago. They are still together...not married...but still engaged.”
Being psychic has its ups and downs. I asked Heather what she likes most and least about having a psychic talent? Heather said “I love the look on people’s faces when you validate something so important to them and when they leave the reading with an obvious sense of happiness or contentment. But there are so many sad situations in the world which makes me ask spirit 'Tell me the answer to this problem'.
When asked about who Heather would like to do a reading for most she said “I truly have no idea. My best hope is that I get to be the reader for the people who most need help and guidance rather than them going to someone who is not qualified and is providing a reading based on what they think the person wants to hear.”
