First Step To Empower People

 

First Step is 

A voluntary service working in the community, providing counselling, stress management and group work sessions on a range of issues affecting health and well-being.

 

A friendly environment 

Where people experiencing problems can talk in a safe and confidential environment with a trained counsellor on issues such as;

  • Alcohol problems
  • Anger management
  • Anxiety and Panic attacks
  • Bereavement
  • Confidence building
  • Depression
  • Self-esteem
  • Stress
  • Relationship problems

Counselling

Providing individual sessions where clients can talk in confidence in a safe environment, explore difficulties and distress they may be experiencing. Counselling is a way of enabling choice and where possible to initiate change.

Stress Management

Providing individual sessions on stress management. What is stress? How does it affect you? What changes can you make to your life? Helping people to increase awareness on health and well-being issues.

Group Sessions

The service also provides group sessions on personal development such as, stress management, anger management and confidence and self esteem.

Relaxation Techniques

Providing group sessions on relaxation and breathing techniques. Learning where we hold tension in our body and how to relax in stressful situations.
